Houhu Villa B&B is set along a small coastal valley flanked on all sides by hills and blessed by the waters of an effervescent natural spring.  Previous generations tapped the perennial spring water to irrigate terraced fields.  We have carefully developed Houhu Villa’s 6,600 square meter property in a manner that respects the legacy of these fields.  We have retained the terracing and designed terraced ponds, which have both enhanced significantly the natural beauty of the property and helped revitalize the land’s natural rhythms.

Several dozen steps up a rise across from Houhu House take you to a set of wood framed viewing platforms overlooking the Hualien Coast and beautiful blue hues of the Pacific Ocean.  Offering one of the best views of the Pacific that we know of, it is yours to enjoy throughout your stay at Houhu Villa B&B.  Get up early, curl up in one of the comfortable deck chairs and catch a sunrise, or … sit with your sweetheart in the swing chair after sunset under a canopy of stars and enjoy the night scene that unfolds below.  These decks are also ideal places for a family barbecue or a sociable chat and drinks.
